Description- Waddell attended Thirsk School and Sixth Form College. Whilst studying accounting at Brighton Polytechnic, he realised that his interests lay elsewhere and dropped out, taking up the study of photography at Barnfield College Luton and then London College of Printing. During this time, Rankin met Jefferson Hack, with whom he formed a working relationship. In 1992 the two decided to start a magazine together called Dazed & Confused.[1] In December 2000 Rankin launched his own quarterly fashion magazine, Rank. He also publishes Another Magazine, Another Man and more recently Hunger, a website and biannual fashion and lifestyle magazine.[1] In addition, Rankin has donated his services to publicity campaigns for the charitable organisation Women's Aid, providing photographs for use in the What's it going to take? and Valentine's Day campaigns.[citation needed] In April 2009 Rankin created Annroy, a contemporary structure designed by Trevor Horne Architects that is home to Rankin’s own photographic studio, gallery and living space, where he lives with his wife and model Tuuli Shipster.[citation needed] Each month Annroy holds a different exhibition, which features some of Rankin’s current work.[citation needed] In 2002, Rankin was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by The Royal Photographic Society.[citation needed] In January 2014, BBC 4 broadcast his 1 hour documentary Seven Photographs that Changed Fashion, in which he created his own tributes to images by Cecil Beaton, Erwin Blumenfeld, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, David Bailey and Guy Bourdin. He interviewed an array of original photographers, models and assistants, and used contemporary models including Heidi Klum, Erin O'Connor, Jade Parfitt, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Tuuli Shipster, Mollie Gondi, Daphne Guinness and David Gandy.[2] In 2010, Rankin travelled to South Africa with the BBC to shoot the documentary, South Africa in Pictures[3] The same year, Rankin was commissioned by Nike and Bono’s Product Red in the fight against HIV/AIDS, to shoot a global Nike campaign, Lace Up Save Lives, to raise awareness about the disease.[citation needed] Rankin was involved with television reality show Britain's Missing Top Model.[citation needed] The show followed eight young women with disabilities who competed for a modeling contract, which includes a photo shoot with Rankin and a cover photo in Marie Claire. Rankin has shot for Germany's Next Topmodel, where he was a guest judge,[citation needed] and regularly works with the winner of Cycle 2 of Britains Next Top Model Lianna Fowler.[citation needed] In 2011 Rankin served as the photography teacher in the Channel 4 series Jamie's Dream School featuring Jamie Oliver.[citation needed] He also presented the BBC Four documentary America in Pictures - The Story of Life Magazine.[citation needed] In May 2012 it was confirmed that Rankin would be re-shooting Azealia Banks's music video for her single "Liquorice".[4] In February 2011, Rankin expressed the opinion that "in America the Jewish zealots are so powerful. Especially in the entertainment industry." [5] After this was reported, Rankin said "of course this is not my official position and I apologise wholeheartedly for my use of language and any offence this may have caused.

Description- After graduating from high school, Randall worked in the photography studios of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and is reported to have appeared as an extra in some of the films of John Ford.[4][5][a] During the Second World War he served as a US Navy photographer, and was trained by Life magazine to take combat pictures.[7] He attained the rank of Photographer's Mate 1st Class Petty Officer.[1][8] After the war, he moved to Paris, France, where he secured a job at Condé Nast, publisher of Vogue magazine, with whom he was employed for seven years. In the early 1950s, he became noted for his fashion photography for the French edition of Vogue. His Los Angeles Times obituary would later remark that "photographing his models in the back streets of war-torn Paris, against centuries-old facades, Randall brought a new look to high fashion and created celebrities of the models."[4] After seven years in Paris, he returned to the United States[9][10] and was based in New York City for 15 years, where he had his own studio on Park Avenue.[7] In 1968, he moved from New York to Laguna Beach, California, where he worked on a semi-retired basis.[11][7] In the 1970s, exhibitions of his work were held at the Edward-Dean Museum of Decorative Arts and the Laguna Beach Museum of Art.[12][13] According to newspaper interviews at the time, he was preparing a book of photographs of Laguna residents;[11][7] however, it appears this projected work was never published.[b] In 1975, he started teaching photography courses through the University of California, Irvine, and at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.[4] In 1977, the Los Angeles Times wrote that "Randall probably took more pictures of celebrities before they became celebrities than just about anybody." His subjects included Brigitte Bardot, Pablo Picasso, Bernard Buffet, Jane Fonda, and Lauren Hutton. He photographed Ali MacGraw and Lynda Day George for Seventeen magazine.[7][9] His fashion and advertising work also appeared in Glamour, Look, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan.[4] In 1984, Prentice-Hall published his book Fashion Photography: A Guide for the Beginner

His collection is a series of silkscreened T-shirts, tanks, and hoodies sold in exclusive boutiques and online. Many of the images seen are taken from Rains' own photography.[13] As co-designer/founder of Heatherette, Rains showed as part of the official New York Fashion week 16 times with his collections over a period of nine years. Description- Pullen is inspired by geometry, and she loves lines and symmetry.[4] She is most noted for High Fashion Crime Scenes which consists of over one-hundred photographs based on NYPD and LAPD crime scene files.[5] Pullen's monograph High Fashion Crime Scenes received critical acclaim from Spin.[6] To create High Fashion Crime Scenes (1995–2005), Pullen employed the services of up to 80 crew members and models per picture, with each image taking up to a month to create, and the series using over $13 million worth of clothing and accessories.[5][7] Her photo shoots often resemble movie sets. High Fashion Crime Scenes in particular was inspired by cinema and photojournalism.[8] During her research into crime-scene photography, Pullen became haunted by war imagery. Pullen states, "As I grew desensitized to domestic crime and violence, I became more sensitized to images of war. It was a strange phenomenon that I've explored and philosophized. I don't like violence, I have never been a dark person. I see stories and different layers to violent imagery. I'm curious about the response people have to violent images." [4] This became Pullen's inspiration for Violent Times, her more recent body of work and most elaborate series to date

Puhlmann was born in Berlin in 1934, and from 1951 to 1955, studied fashion design, art design, and art history at the Berlin University of the Arts (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin).[1] He worked for magazines including Constanze, Burda, Vogue, Glamour, GQ, Harper's Bazaar.[2][1] He photographed people including Isabella Rossellini, Cindy Crawford, Mel Gibson, Richard Avedon, Suzy Parker, Cheryl Tiegs, Naomi Campbell, and Hildegard Knef.[2] Puhlmann moved to the US in 1970, and died on 17 July 1996, on TWA Flight 800 from New York to Paris, 12 minutes after take-off

23 Rare Photographs of Marilyn Monroe During the Hat Sitting, 1958

Description- Perutz started taking photos in his teens in the 1930s. Fashion photography by him featured in Vogue as early as 1940[1] He joined the U.S. Army shortly after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour and served in the American Eighth Air Force as a reconnaissance photographer, flying in a B17 over North Africa, France and Germany. In the rank of Captain to which he rose in 1945, he worked on the ground behind enemy lines. Paris (1946-52)[edit] He moved to Paris after the War and from there filed reports for Popular Photography magazine,[2] and his correspondences indicate that he was using colour quite early for the work he undertook there from 1946 photographing fashion, writers, artists and stage and screen actors.[3][4] In their September 29, 1947 issue LIFE magazine published his atmospheric picture of Juliette Gréco wearing men’s trousers at Le Tabou.[5] His unusually candid shot of fashion models - one smiling broadly at his camera - parading British designer Charles James’ gowns at the candlelit haute couture soirée at Plaza Athénée in Paris, was made on July 1947.[6] Magnum[edit] He shared an apartment in Paris with photojournalist Robert Capa (1913-54) who with Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David Seymour was forming the Magnum agency (1947). Though he stamped ‘Magnum’ on his prints made in Paris (1947–52) and in New York (1952-58), and was credited as "Carl Perutz, Magnum" in issues of LIFE magazine into the 1950s,[7][8] the agency does not recognise him as one of their official photographers and he does not appear in searches of their current website. Nevertheless, he is mentioned as ‘another member of Magnum” in a caption to his 1950 photograph of Robert Capa by Gael Elton Mayo,[9] and by Cornell Capa (1918-2008), Robert’s younger brother, and by Inge Morath (1923-2002). New York (1952-58)[edit] Returning to America, Perutz worked for a variety of corporate[10] and magazine clients. John G. Morris describes how he selected Perutz for stories on film and theatre because "he had been virtually born in the theatre".[11] While his famous subjects included Helen Keller, Duke Ellington, Jimmy Durante, Roland Petit and other celebrities, it is for his photographs of Marilyn Monroe that Perutz is becoming best remembered. On June 16, 1958, shortly before the movie star flew out to Hollywood to film Some Like It Hot, Perutz was contracted by the Hearst Corporation to conduct a photo-shoot with Monroe for their 1958 cover-story, “Milady’s Easter Bonnet” in The American Weekly Sunday supplement, for which six leading milliners to provided a hat for six well-known women; Monroe along with Kathy Grant Crosby, Lucille Ball, Elsa Maxwell, Eleanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower, wife of the President. Perutz shot about sixty frames during this session in which Monroe wore several hats from Northridge’s salon, including a black unblocked felt hat worn low over one eye and the frame chosen for publication shows Marilyn wearing a white, floppy hat. Silver gelatin prints were produced, and some bought by Monroe herself, although in publication the photographs were replaced with illustrations by Jon Whitcomb (1906–88) using Carl’s work as reference. Il étudie le design au côté d’Alexey Brodovitch, un émigré russe, directeur artistique au Harper’s Bazaar et travaille comme son assistant lorsque ce dernier travaille pour Saks Fifth Avenue3. Il achète son premier appareil photo en 1938, un Rolleiflex, avec de l’argent obtenu suite à des publications de dessins dans le magazine du Harper’s Bazaar. La même année, et jusqu’en 1941, il travaille en tant que directeur artistique pour le magazine Junior League. En 1941, il se rend au Mexique pour peindre, mais étant déçu de sa production, il la détruisit puis retourna à New York un an plus tard. A son retour à New York, il est embauché par le directeur artistique de Vogue, Alexander Liberman. C’est là qu’il fit sa première photographie en couleur ; il s’agit d’une nature morte qui devint la couverture du magazine du 1er octobre 1943. Irving Penn considère ce tournant comme le début de sa carrière en tant que photographe professionnel. Il se sent mal à l'aise au milieu de la foule des photographes et des rédacteurs qui se pressent dans ces rendez-vous mondains. Il préfère travailler au calme, dans un studio en éclairage naturel. Il installe un atelier dans un ancien bâtiment de la rue de Vaugirard, sans eau courante ni électricité, dans lequel il fait poser les mannequins devant un rideau de théâtre en guise de fond neutre. Il y réalise de nombreuses photographies de mode, mettant notamment en scène le modèle suédois Lisa Fonssagrives, une ancienne danseuse douée d’un grand sens de la pose, qui l'a accompagné depuis New York. Leur complicité, que l'on peut percevoir dans le regard de la jeune femme, donne naissance à une suite d'images remarquables, qui paraissent dans Vogue, dans les numéros de septembre et octobre 1950, et asseoient sa notoriété comme photographe de mode. Peu après, Lisa Fonssagrives deviendra sa femme. En 1951, il achève sa série des petits métiers, série emblématique de son travail, dans laquelle il a photographié des travailleurs avec les attributs liés à leur métier, en studio. Il a fait trois séries de petits métiers, une à Paris, une à Londres et une à New York. En 1952, il déplace son studio au 80 West 40th Street, et commence la publicité en plus de son travail éditorial. Cette même année, il a un fils, Tom. Il publie son premier livre, Moments Preserved, en 1960, tout en continuant la photographie de mode pour Vogue, pour lequel il voyage en Crète et au Japon. Il tente des expériences pour développer une méthode assez complexe de développement au platine et au palladium. En 1967, Irving Penn construit un studio portable à l’aide d’une tente pour pouvoir photographier en studio pendant ses voyages. Il entreprend une série de voyages, au Bénin, au Népal, au Cameroun, en Nouvelle-Guinée et au Maroc. Dans les années 1970, il réalise ses série Cigarettes, Street Material et Archéologie. Dans les dernières années de sa vie, Irving Penn offre successivement son oeuvre à de grandes institutions tout en continuant à photographier et à être publié dans Vogue. Il meurt chez lui à l'âge de 92 ans en 2009.

Inside the lost photos of Gordon Parks

Description- Photography[edit] At the age of 25, Parks was struck by photographs of migrant workers in a magazine. He bought his first camera, a Voigtländer Brillant, for $7.50 at a Seattle, Washington, pawnshop[16] and taught himself how to take photos. The photography clerks who developed Parks's first roll of film applauded his work and prompted him to seek a fashion assignment at a women's clothing store in St. Paul, Minnesota, owned by Frank Murphy. Those photographs caught the eye of Marva Louis, wife of heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis. She encouraged Parks and his wife, Sally Alvis, to move to Chicago in 1940,[17] where he began a portrait business and specialized in photographs of society women. Parks's photographic work in Chicago, especially in capturing the myriad experiences of African Americans across the city, led him to receive the Julius Rosenwald Fellowship, in 1941, paying him $200 a month and offering him his choice of employer,[18] which, in turn, contributed to being asked to join the Farm Security Administration, which was chronicling the nation's social conditions,[19] under the auspice of Roy Stryker.[12][20] Government photography[edit] Over the next few years, Parks moved from job to job, developing a freelance portrait and fashion photographer sideline. He began to chronicle the city's South Side black ghetto and, in 1941, an exhibition of those photographs won Parks a photography fellowship with the Farm Security Administration (FSA).[12] American Gothic, Washington, D.C. – a well-known photograph by Parks Working at the FSA as a trainee under Roy Stryker,[5][12] Parks created one of his best-known photographs, American Gothic, Washington, D.C.,[21] named after the iconic Grant Wood painting, American Gothic—a legendary painting of a traditional, stoic, white American farm couple—which bore a striking, but ironic, resemblance to Parks' photograph of a black menial laborer. Parks' "haunting" photograph shows a black woman, Ella Watson, who worked on the cleaning crew of the FSA building, standing stiffly in front of an American flag hanging on the wall, a broom in one hand and a mop in the background. Parks had been inspired to create the image after encountering racism repeatedly in restaurants and shops in the segregated capital city.[22] A later photograph in the FSA series, by Parks, shows Ella Watson and her family Upon viewing the photograph, Stryker said that it was an indictment of America, and that it could get all of his photographers fired.[23] He urged Parks to keep working with Watson, which led to a series of photographs of her daily life. Parks said later that his first image was overdone and not subtle; other commentators have argued that it drew strength from its polemical nature and its duality of victim and survivor, and thus affected far more people than his subsequent pictures of Mrs. Watson.[24] (Parks' overall body of work for the federal government—using his camera "as a weapon"—would draw far more attention from contemporaries and historians than that of all other black photographers in federal service at the time. Today, most historians reviewing federally commissioned black photographers of that era focus almost exclusively on Parks.)[22] After the FSA disbanded, Parks remained in Washington, D.C. as a correspondent with the Office of War Information,[12][25] where he photographed the all-black 332d Fighter Group.[26] He was unable to follow the group in the overseas war theatre, so he resigned from the O.W.I.[27] He would later follow Stryker to the Standard Oil Photography Project in New Jersey, which assigned photographers to take pictures of small towns and industrial centers. The most striking work by Parks during that period included, Dinner Time at Mr. Hercules Brown's Home, Somerville, Maine (1944); Grease Plant Worker, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1946); Car Loaded with Furniture on Highway (1945); Self Portrait (1945); and Ferry Commuters, Staten Island, N.Y. (1946).

Norman Parkinson Vintage Photography

Description- Durant la Première Guerre mondiale, Norman Parkinson est envoyé avec sa sœur dans une ferme d'Oxfordshire1. Par la suite, Il fait des études à la Westminster School, développant un goût pour l'art1. En 1931, il intègre pour un apprentissage un studio photo de New Bond Street spécialisé en portraits de jeunes filles, Speaight & Sons2, d'où il est renvoyé après deux ans1. En 1934, il fonde son propre studio de portraits3 avec Norman Kibblewhite. À partir de ce moment-là, il travaille pour de nombreux magazines tels que Life, ou le British Vogue2 plus tard, et réalise ses toutes premières photographies en extérieur pour l'édition anglaise d'Harper's Bazaar dès 19354 avec laquelle il collabore durant cinq ans3. En parallèle, il s'intéresse à l'agriculture2 et se marie à Margaret Banks. Il réalise des images pour le service de recrutement de l'armée britannique, ainsi que des photographies de reportage pour le tabloïd Bystander (en)3,1. Au tout début de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, son studio de Londres est bombardé1. Norman Parkinson divorce en 1940 puis intègre l'équipe des photographes du Vogue anglais l'année suivante4 ; le magazine est alors peu autonome, dépendant pour les photographies de son équivalent américain5,n 2. Il est également photographe dans la Royal Air Force, collabore avec l'ATS, mais aussi fermier2 dans le Worcestershire6. Il se marie de nouveau, avec Thelma Woolley-Blay. Vers la fin de la Guerre, il est publié pour la première fois dans l'édition américaine du Vogue1. La Guerre terminée, il reprend son métier de photographe de mode pour le British Vogue, donnant à la publication une identité distincte de son homologue américain5. Précurseur, il fait sortir les mannequins des studios7 pour les photographier à travers le monde6. Il réalise également de nombreuses photographies pour des agences de publicité françaises, anglaises ou américaines2 ou pour le magazine américain Cosmopolitan. Il épouse Wenda Rogerson qui deviendra son modèle4 et a un fils. Lassé des années d'après-guerre en Angleterre, il écrit à Alexander Liberman en mai 1949 pour lui proposer quelques photos ; celui-ci le recrute rapidement3, il prend l'habitude de se rendre régulièrement à New York pour travailler avec le Vogue local sous la responsabilité d'Edna Woolman Chase4, ainsi que pour le magazine Glamour américain3. Durant les années 1950, il appartient, avec Cecil Beaton et Bill Brandtn 3, au groupe des rares photographes britanniques de mode ayant réellement une envergure internationale4. Pourtant, il dit de lui que « Je suis le plus inconnu des photographes célèbres8 ». Il voyage beaucoup de par le monde5 et photographie les plus grands modèles et mannequins des différentes décennies qu'il traverse, telles Fiona Campbell-Walter, Anne Gunning, Grace Coddington alors débutante dans le mannequinat, ou Celia Hammond (en), Carmen Dell'Orefice plus tard, Jean Shrimpton, puis Iman. De 1960 à 1964, il travaille pour le magazine Queen (en) — qui accorde à l'époque une large part à la photographie — comme photographe et rédacteur en chef adjoint9 ; il y apporte une autre vision originale, voir extravagante, de la photographie de mode9n 4. Entre-temps, il s'installe dans sa ferme de Tobago ou il monte un élevage de cochons11 ce qui lui vaudra le surnom parfois de « photographe fermier »5. À la fin des années 1960, aux côtés de Beatrix Miller (en)n 5, il devient le mentor de Grace Coddington, qui vient de changer de métier, au sein du Vogue britannique11,12 et développe avec elle par la suite le concept de « séquences de styles » consistant à aller prendre pour une même série de photos des vêtements dans différents endroits du monde13. Début 1965, Diana Vreeland, alors chez Vogue, lui commande une série de photos devant être prises à Tahiti : celles-ci seront publiées sur trente-trois pages du magazine1. Il devient le portraitiste de la famille royale d'Angleterre3, remplaçant Cecil Beaton à sa mort. Quelques années après, il prend le statut de photographe indépendant11, retournant fréquemment à Londres.

"Follow Me" - A Tribute to Murad Osmann

Description- Osmann was born in the mountains of Dagestan, Russia. In 1990, when he was five years old, his family moved to Moscow. In 2001, he went to England to pursue a degree in civil engineering at Imperial College London. Osmann told FabWeb, “Photography is about capturing things other people might miss. It is a way to communicate, a way to bring images that I hold in my mind to the surface.”[5] Osmann is best known for the "Follow Me" project that began in Barcelona, Spain in 2011 when his then-girlfriend, Natalia Zakharova,[5] became annoyed each time he kept stopping to take photos. She would pull him away, but he took the photograph anyway, this sparked the "Follow Me" series.[6] According to Osmann, Nataly’s impatience was the inspiration behind what has since become a social media phenomenon. Osman currently has 4.1 million followers on his Instagram account.[7] Originally all #Followmeto photos were made on an iPhone, but recently Osmann is using a DSLR camera to have a wider field of view.[8] On Saturday, 6 June 2015, Osmann and Zakharova got married. The pair had two weddings, one in Moscow and the second one at Murad's birth place in Dagestan.[9] The photographer captured moments from their wedding to include in the "Follow Me" series

She attended Parsons School of Design, and then worked as an assistant to Patrick Demarchelier and Walter Chin.[1] She started photographing musicians and bands. Helmut Newton ¡Impresionante!

Description- De père juif allemand et de mère américaine, le jeune Helmut suit ses études au lycée Werner von Trotschke de Berlin, puis à l'École américaine de Berlin. Il s'intéresse très tôt à la photographie et, dès 1936, devient l'élève de la photographe allemande Else Simon, dite « Yva », à qui il doit son style de photographie. Il quitte l'Allemagne nazie en 1938 : après avoir travaillé pendant un temps à Singapour, il émigre en Australie. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il rejoint l'armée australienne où il est affecté à la logistique. En 1948, il épouse l'actrice australienne June Brunell. Après la guerre, il travaille comme photographe en indépendant, en réalisant des photos de mode ainsi que des travaux pour le magazine Playboy. À la fin des années 1950, il se concentre davantage sur les clichés de mode. Il s'installe à Paris, rue Aubriot, en 1961 et devient un photographe de mode très productif. Il réalise des séries de mode pour de nombreux magazines, en particulier dans Vogue. Son style, parfois d'une subjectivité sensuelle, est marqué par l'érotisme, par des scènes stylisées et, souvent, par une violence sous-jacente. À partir de 1970, sa femme June se lance aussi dans la photographie sous le nom d'Alice Springs. En 1977, le couple s'installe à Paris, rue de l'Abbé-de-l'Épée. À partir de 1981, Helmut Newton réside à Monaco et à Los Angeles. Helmut Newton meurt le 23 janvier 2004 des suites d'un accident de voiture à Hollywood (celle-ci ayant percuté le mur d'un hôtel)1. Selon sa volonté, il est enterré à Berlin. Il repose au cimetière Schöneberg III (Stubenrauchstraße 43-45), près de la tombe de Marlene Dietrich.

Metropolis Cathleen Naundorf

Description- Born in Weissenfels, Naundorf moved from the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1985. From 1990 to 1992 she studied in Munich at the Municipal College for Design with a focus on graphics, painting and photography. From 1990, Naundorf assisted in internationally oriented photography studios in Munich, Berlin, Paris, New York City and Singapore. In the early 1990s, she traveled on behalf of publishers including Bruckmann, Bucher, Reich, Knaur and Nymphenburger as a reportage photographer in countries such as Mongolia, Greenland, Iceland and Brazil. She lived and worked with many ethnic groups, including the indigenous peoples the Yanomamis, Mongols and Kazakhs in the Altai Highlands and with shaman's in Yakutia in Siberia. Her reportage work has been published in National Geographic, Geo and Globo. A meeting and joint trips with the Dalai Lama influenced Naundorf's social commitment to Tibet and its cause supported with Amnesty International, also a subject of reportage. From 1989, inspired by her mentor and a decade – long friendship with Horst P. Horst, Cathleen Naundorf focused her creative interest and art direction in fashion photography commuting between projects in New York and Paris. In 1997, she began to photograph backstage for Condé Nast during various Paris fashion shows. In 1998 she settled permanently in Paris. From 1998 to 2000, Cathleen Naundorf collaborated with the haute couture master embroiderer François Lesage on the "Les coulisses de la mode et de haute couture" project. From 2000 to 2004 she became a photojournalist for Süddeutsche Zeitung's latest fashion reports. In the years 2004 to 2011 Cathleen Naundorf worked on various photo series under the working title "Un rêve de mode", focussing on fashion houses such as Dior, CHANEL, Valentino, Gaultier, Elie Saab and Armani. Her collaboration with fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Philip Tracy, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix allowed her access to the Maison's collections. The result of these projects is a 150 photo series (body of) work published in 2012 by Prestel Verlag, in a limited edition entitled "The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf". A collaboration with the Reunion Musees National produced several photo shoots with a mix of French historical architecture and Parisian fashion themes. Among these shoots, five Grand Palais photo series were created, together with a series in Malmaison Castle and Moulage du Louvre. From 2010, Naundorf worked closely with the Musée Rodin in Paris and the Musée Rodin de Meudon in Meudon. Her work has been published in Tatler, Harpers Bazaar and Vogue. In 2010, Naundorf began working with Parisian jewelers such as CHANEL, Dior, Bulgari, Cartier, Chaumet, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron. [3] In 2012, Naundorf worked with interior designer Didier Gomez and the Sofitel Paris Hotel. (Haute Couture Suit, Restaurant). Since 2012 Cathleen Naundorf has been working with Valentino Garavani on various projects such as "An Italian Story" and "The NY City Ballet". In 2012-2013, Justine Picardie commissioned Cathleen Naundorf for Harper's Bazaar, UK. Photographic projects were shot in London, Paris and Bangkok for the magazine. An exotic series of photographs was taken at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok and Ching Mai, and in the Royal Palace with the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, Thailand, shooting the Queens private haute couture collection. Photographs for Somerset House and the Victoria and Albert Museum followed in 2014. Naundorf's signature photographs are in collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Musée Rodin, Paris. In 2016 she won the American Photography Award. In 2018 saw the publication of the book Women of singular beauty - CHANEL Haute Couture by Cathleen Naundorf, Rizzoli, USA.

Description- Marielle Warin naît dans une famille juive contrainte à quitter la France occupée2. Elle rejoint l'Angleterre. Sarah Moon exerce alors la profession de mannequin de 1960 à 1966, puis se tourne vers la photographie à partir de 1970. Elle devient célèbre pour sa campagne de publicité pour Cacharel3. Dans son travail pour la mode, elle a su montrer les femmes sous un angle particulier du fait de sa relation avec les modèles dont elle a partagé l’univers pendant sa jeunesse. Les regards et les attitudes qu’elle a su capturer laissent apparaître dans ses clichés une certaine complicité qui l’a distinguée des hommes dans la photographie de mode. Après quinze ans de travail dans la mode, répondant aux commandes de nombreuses marques telles que le magazine Vogue, les Maisons de couture telles que Chanel ou Dior, la carrière de Sarah Moon prend un tournant lorsque l’artiste décide de se consacrer davantage à une photographie plus personnelle encore, plus introspective et cette fois, purement artistique. Elle « sort » alors des studios de ses mises en scènes pour la mode, et fait de Paris son terrain de jeux, par goût dit-elle, et par « commodité »4, même si la ville n’est jamais réellement le sujet de ses photographies mais bien plus un décor méconnaissable. Ce sera d’ailleurs à cette époque qu’elle adoptera le Polaroïd noir et blanc avec négatif comme support de son expression. Elle est exposée aux Rencontres d'Arles en 1980, 1981, 1994, 2005 et 2006. En 2013 a lieu l'exposition « Alchimies », présentant ses photographies sur le thème de la nature, au Muséum national d'histoire naturelle (Paris)2. Sources d'inspiration[modifier | modifier le code] Pour ce qui est de la photographie, Sarah Moon cite l’œuvre de Guy Bourdin comme étant l’excellence qui lui a le plus donné l’envie de se diriger vers la mode. Cependant, dans ses œuvres postérieures à l'époque de son travail dans la mode, on peut aisément reconnaître son goût pour le cinéma des années trente, notamment le cinéma expressionniste Allemand. Le grain, l’esthétique générale des photographies de Sarah Moon forment une référence constante aux origines du medium (on peut noter, entre autres, un nu datant de 1977, « Nu », rappelant fortement - tant par son cadre que par son rapprochement esthétique vers la peinture et la sculpture – les séries de nus réalisées vers 1854 par Eugène Durieu pour Eugène Delacroix).

Description- Jean-Baptiste Mondino est un photographe reconnu, sollicité par les magazines de mode pour réaliser leurs couvertures et séries de mode, et la presse généraliste qui publie ses photographies des personnalités : artistes dont il réalise des vidéo-clips, tout comme des acteurs et artistes. Il travaille également avec de nombreuses marques dont il crée les visuels de campagnes publicitaires ainsi qu'avec des labels de disques qui lui confient la réalisation des pochettes de disques et des photographies promotionnelles. Le parcours prolifique de Jean-Baptiste Mondino est un parcours atypique dans le monde de la photographie de mode9. Il n'a associé son nom ni à un magazine, ni à une marque et il publie ses photographies, au fil des décennies, sans distinction, dans des magazines « incontournables » comme Vogue et la presse innovante ou encore masculine (Glamour10, Jalouse11,Têtu). « Je n'aime pas la photo. Ce que j'aime, c'est être dans le service, j'aurais pu être steward » - déclare-t-il2. Mode & publicité[modifier | modifier le code] Au tournant des années 1980 et 1990, Mondino met en image les créations du styliste Lionel Cros dont il partage l'univers et l'aspiration à sortir la représentation de la sexualité, féminine en particulier, des bas-fonds de la pornographie. Après avoir utilisé les créations du styliste dans Tandem de Vanessa Paradis, il les photographie dans les séries de mode pour Elle : « Vinyl la folie » (mars 199012) et « À La Maniere De Nijinski » (juin 1991). Personnalités[modifier | modifier le code] Dans les années 1990, les images produites par Jean-Baptiste Mondino dans le cadre de ses collaboration avec des magazines français, par exemple de Vanessa Paradis pour Glamour, ont fait objet de reproductions et d'analyses, tant elles bouleversaient non seulement les codes de la photographie de mode mais aussi l'image des artistes-modèles et au-delà de la féminité (American Photo, 199710). Celle qui nous intéresse justement parce qu’elle ne joue pas à l’être. Elle baisse les yeux, que répondre à ça, elle semble heureuse du compliment, un peu gênée aussi d’en être heureuse. Avec Mondino ils font les cons, et elle qui déteste tant les séances photos approuve l’idée d’une série de portraits serrés, à peine changeants, comme une variation sur le même thème d’une Dalle qui n’a plus le corps d’avant mais s’en accommode comme il faut – l’important c’est cette gueule. »

Description- Johnny Moncada (Giovanni Luigi Moncada di Paternò),[1] son of Conte Corrado Moncada dei Principi di Paternò, Sicilian aristocrat of Spanish descent and Teresa Patrizi, daughter of Marchese Giuseppe Patrizi and Francesca Lee Cooper, descendant from the Lees of Virginia.[2] His career began with advertising photography and takes a definite path after meeting Joan Whelan, in 1954, an American model for Hubert de Givenchy who had just arrived in Rome to show Emilio Pucci clothes. They became inseparable and were married in 1956. The photos of Johnny Moncada, a synthesis between art and fashion, capture the spirit of their time with great elegance and style. He worked with famous models of his time, Denise Sarrault from Paris, the legendary Veruschka, Barbara Bach, the wife of Ringo Starr, Ali MacGraw, the actress and wife of Steve McQueen, Jean Shrimpton, and the famous Italian models such as Isa Stoppi, Mirella Petteni and Iris Bianchi. He publishes with Linea Italiana, Harper's Bazaar UK, New York Times Magazine, The Tatler, Grazia, Novità, and others. He also works in advertisement for Vespa- Piaggio and Alitalia airlines. His studio became an important center for artists such as Gastone Novelli and Cy Twombly, and designers like Valentino, Mila Schön, Pino Lancetti, Irene Galitzine, Rocco Barocco, Sorelle Fontana, and many others. He works in Paris, London and New York City and travels worldwide for Alitalia. He closed his studio in 1970 and opened HG advertising agency in 1973, after having worked as creative advisor for Pgbs advertising. In 2008 his daughter Valentina Moncada, who has run her own art gallery in Rome since 1990,[3] founded the Johnny Moncada Archive. In 2011, when Johnny Moncada died, the Nando Peretti Foundation is supporting the creation of the Archive. In 2012 Valentina Moncada rendered homage to her father with a solo exhibition within the Via Margutta Art Festival, remembering his historic studio in Via Margutta 54. In 2014 the exhibition From Vera to Veruschka. The Unseen Photographs by Johnny Moncada opened at Somerset House London, curated by Valentina Moncada and Antonio Monfreda, after launching the volume published by Rizzoli New York.[4] In July 2014 the exhibition Made in Italy. Una Visione Modernista. Johnny Moncada Gastone Novelli Achille Perilli opened at Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia, Rome, curated by Valentina Moncada with the collaboration of Ludovico Pratesi, volume published by Silvana Editoriale. In November 2014 the exhibition From Vera to Veruschka opened at MACRO - Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome within the XIII Edition of FOTOGRAFIA - Festival Internazionale di Roma curated by Marco Delogu. His photos were included in the exhibition Bellissima curated by Maria Luisa Frisa, Anna Mattirolo and Stefano Tonchi at Villa Reale in Monza (2016) and at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2016). In 2017, his photos were exhibited in the occasion of Fantastica! Valentino Dresses from Private Collections at Milavida Museum, Tampere, Finland. In 2018 the exhibition Johnny Moncada. Description- Solo and Die For You (2008–2013)[edit] In 2008 after posting original tracks to Myspace, Wilkinson was scouted by Trevor Steel and Chris Johns of Sunday Morning Records to play lead guitar for the newly formed electro-pop band Die For You. In 2009, Die For You embarked on the nationwide Stack Is The New Black Tour supporting Australian pop-punk act Short Stack.[1] MLHLND (2014–present)[edit] In 2013, Wilkinson began work on a new project in New York City with Autre Ne Veut producer Joel Ford. Returning to Australia as MLHLND, Wilkinson quickly signed a record deal with Personal Best Records and began releasing music.[2][3] In October 2014, MLHLND released "Pretty",[2][4] a soft single, to introduce himself as an artist and tease the upcoming release of his debut single. MLHLND's debut single "Clothes Off" was released on 28 November 2014 to high critical acclaim.[5] Mike Wass of Idolator called the track "a steamy bedroom romp", comparing MLHLND to an 80's Prince as he "really occupies an entirely new space with his dreamy synths, R&B-influenced vocal style and bold pop sensibility".[6] Nic Kelly of EMI called the track "stunning", dubbing MLHLND "Australian pop's newest forward thinker".[2] The single also gained commercial success, gathering over 200,000 plays on Spotify.[7] After his debut performance in 2015 at annual outdoor lighting festival Vivid Sydney,[8] MLHLND continued releasing new music. To online and radio success, MLHLND released his debut EP Twenty First Century Love, Vol. I on 1 April 2016 exploring themes of love, lust and heartbreak.[9] The single "Pure" was released off of Twenty First Century Love, Vol. I to online success, with a risque video of couples seen passionately kissing.[10] "Closer", gained over 100,000 streams on Spotify.[11] Twenty First Century Love, Vol. II was released on 26 August 2016 with the single "Non Stop". Description- Mert Alas est né en Turquie et Marcus Piggot au Pays de Galles, tous les deux en 1971. Après avoir travaillé dans différents domaines, Mert dans la musique et le second dans le graphisme, ils se rencontrent en Angleterre la première fois en 1994. L’incroyable trompe-l’œil de JR autour de la pyramide du Louvre

Description- En 2001, il trouve un appareil-photo dans le métro parisien, et part parcourir l’Europe9 à la rencontre de ceux qui s’expriment sur les murs et les façades qui structurent les villes10. Observant les gens qu’il rencontre et écoutant leur message, il colle leurs portraits dans les rues, les sous-sols et sur les toits de Paris. En 2004, JR réalise l'exposition Toit et moi, associé avec l’artiste Prune Nourry qui est devenue sa fiancée11. Les sculptures de celle-ci étaient positionnées sur les toits parisiens puis photographiées par JR12. De 2004 à 2006, il réalise Portrait d’une génération, des portraits de jeunes de banlieue qu’il expose, en très grand format, sur les murs de la Cité des Bosquets de Montfermeil2, 13. Ce projet illégal devient officiel lorsque la mairie de Paris affiche les photos de JR sur ses bâtiments14. Dès ces premiers projets, l'artiste affirme vouloir amener l'art dans la rue : « Je possède la plus grande galerie d’art au monde : les murs du monde entier. J’attire ainsi l’attention de ceux qui ne fréquentent pas les musées habituellement15. » En 2005, il participe au long-métrage de Kim Chapiron (Kourtrajmé) Sheitan, avec Vincent Cassel, comme photographe de plateau et rencontre Shepard Fairey, Blu, Zevs, Blek le Rat, Influenza, The London Police entre autres, pour réaliser un reportage sur les activistes urbains internationaux. Au cours de l’année 2007, avec Marco16 il réalise Face 2 Face, « la plus grande expo photo illégale jamais créée »17. JR affiche d’immenses portraits d’Israéliens et de Palestiniens face à face dans huit villes palestiniennes et israéliennes et de part et d’autre de la barrière de sécurité. Dès son retour à Paris, il colle de nouveau ces portraits dans la capitale. Pour JR, cette action artistique est avant tout un projet humain : « Les héros du projet sont tous ceux qui, des deux côtés du mur, m'ont autorisé à coller sur leur maison »

Description- Biography[edit] Menuez was born in Texas. His father moved the family to the south side of Chicago to work for the community organizer, Saul Alinsky. They moved, again, to Long Island where his father continued working as an organizer. His mother counseled conscientious objectors to the Vietnam War. He studied art and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and San Francisco State University, graduating from SFSU with a bachelor's degree in photojournalism. He worked as a photojournalist from 1979 to the middle of the 1990s. From then, until 2004, he managed his own commercial photography studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2004, he moved to New York with his wife and son. He is represented by Stockland Martel. Photojournalism[edit] Upon graduating from SFSU in 1981, Menuez began an internship at The Washington Post. From then, until 1994, he accepted editorial assignments for magazines and newspapers, including: Time, Newsweek, Life magazine, and others. These assignments included the 1984-85 Ethiopian famine, the Olympics, the Amazon, the World Series, presidential campaigns, Silicon Valley, the AIDS crisis and other events. Silicon Valley[edit] From 1986 to 1988, Doug Menuez documented Steve Jobs’ new company NeXT Inc. and its development and launch of the computer NeXT Computer for Life magazine.At Apple Computer, Doug Menuez documented various projects, including the Apple Newton from its early stages in 1992 to its launch in 1993. In 1992, Menuez published, with Markos Kounalakis, the book, Defying Gravity: The Making of Newton. Between 1988 and 1995, Menuez documented the corporate life and the early development of PDF, and the development of Adobe Photoshop at Adobe Systems San Jose, California. The 250,000 photographs Menuez shot, documenting Silicon Valley from 1986 to 2000, are now archived in the Douglas Menuez Photography Collection at Stanford University Library.

Carrière[modifier | modifier le code] Après des études à Parsons School of Design à New York1, Steven Meisel exerce d'abord la profession d'illustrateur pour le styliste Roy Halston Frowick2. Il écrit également quelques articles de mode pour le magazine New York Rocker avant de rejoindre le quotidien américain Women's Wear Daily3. Persuadé que l'illustration ne le « mènerait nulle part », il se lance dans la photographie de mode après avoir fait des « tests » avec des mannequins de l'agence Elite3. [1] McDean began his photographic career in London as a photographer's assistant to photographer Nick Knight.[1] His early editorial work was featured in magazines such as i-D and The Face, which led to advertising campaign work for clients such as Jil Sander and Calvin Klein, and editorial commissions with Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. More recently, McDean has photographed fashion campaigns for clients including Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, and Estée Lauder. His editorial spreads are regularly featured in magazines including Vogue, W, and Another Magazine.
