Photo by Giulio Di Mauro "Silver is our new white," said Vera Giusti, one of the three Giusti sisters heading the family-owned Italian footwear maker AGL for the third generation. Nature inspired the minimalist, feminine, comfort-oriented collection dominated by Oxfords, brogues, sneakers and flats. This season marked AGL's first venture into heels and platform wedges. The silver Oxford shown here has Japanese rice paper applied around the perimeter of its chunky sole. Other novelties in the collection: plexiglass used in high heels or bows applied to sneaker backs; painted peony python pattern for dressier models; and patterned cork-leather on denim for wedges and slip-ons. AGL also debuted its Algae bucket bag, named for the seaweed pattern of its black mesh.
